SATA (Raid 1) Vs SAS (Raid 1): Will It Make a Difference in Performance for a Dedicated Web Server.?
John ask a question… SATA (Raid 1) Vs SAS (Raid 1): Will It Make a Difference in Performance for a Dedicated Web Server.?
I have a wordpress site, and I’m changing hosts. I’m wondering if there will be a big difference between using a 7.2k SATA drive vs an SAS (15K) drive?
Will there be a big performance difference? Or would using SATA be fine?

Hey there!
This would depend on what exactly you do on your “web server”. If you have a busy MySQL driven site or sites, then the faster drives would benefit you greatly. If it’s just a few smallish sites, however; I don’t think you’ll need to worry too much about it.
It’s only my opinion, correct me if I’m wrong!
